DARRYL PARKER
Darryl Parker is an experienced employment, personal injury, and civil rights attorney who has been practicing law and advocating for the rights of others for over 35 years. Born and raised in New York City, he received his B.A. in political science from Fordham University in the Bronx in 1976. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from the University of California at Berkeley School of Law where he graduated in 1980.
He was admitted to the California Bar that December and worked until 1984 as co-counsel on numerous cases with the legendary Howard Moore Jr., known throughout the country as the leading scholar on issues of individual liberty.
Darryl has been serving the greater San Francisco Bay area since starting his private practice in 1984 and expanded his practice to Washington upon admission to the Washington State Bar in 2000. He became a member of the United States Supreme Court Bar in 2014 and resides in Seattle with his family, continuing to serve both Washington and California. He created the Civil Rights Justice Center in the spring of 2015.
He has handled numerous appeals since 1983, including several resulting in published opinions.

KARLY CLENDENEN
Karly is a Legal Clerk for the Civil Rights Justice Center. She is proudly from Tacoma, Washington. She received her Bachelor's degree in Political Science with a Specialization in Legal Studies, from Seattle University. Karly now attends Seattle University's School of Law and recently finished her 1L year. Her favorite areas of study have been Contracts and Racial Justice. Her time at CRJC has shown the complexities of the law and how it can be used to achieve equitable justice. She also enjoys teaching and playing golf, when she can afford it.

RACHEL POLLARD
Rachel is a Legal Assistant for the Civil Rights Justice Center. She is from Seattle and is finishing her last quarter at the University of Washington pursuing a double major in International Studies and Law, Societies & Justice with a focus in Human Rights. Rachel will attend Seattle University's School of Law in the fall. She is particularly interested in studying social justice and intersectionality. While not in class or working, Rachel enjoys traveling and walking her dog.

Cori Tingstad is a Legal Assistant for the Civil Rights Justice Center. They grew up in Seattle and are pleased to return having graduated from the University of Chicago with a BA in Public Policy Studies and a minor in history. Their BA thesis focused on the history of the Legal Services Corporation in Chicago, so they are particularly excited to engage in civil rights law through their work with the CRJC. Ultimately, Cori plans to apply for and attend law school. In their spare time, they enjoy cooking, photography, and exploring the Pacific Northwest with their wife and dog.

Martha is a Legal Assistant and Media Strategist for the Civil Rights Justice Center. She recently graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Law, Societies and Justice. In the limited sunny days in Seattle, Martha enjoys spending time outside and staying active.

Cameron is an intern at the Civil Rights Justice Center. She grew up in the Bay Area in California, but coincidentally her family needed to move to Seattle around the same time she chose to attend the University of Washington. She is now taking on her senior year double majoring in Political Science and Law Societies and Justice with a minor in Human Rights. Cameron is searching for a graduate program to pursue that meets her interests in human and civil rights, but she plans to take a gap year to gain work experience beforehand. She is especially passionate about the issues of prison reform, restorative justice, education reform, and immigrant and refugee rights. When not working, she likes journaling, reading poetry, and discovering new music.

Jake is an intern for the Civil Rights Justice Center. He grew up in Spokane, Washington, but couldn't be happier to be living on the westside now. Jake is graduating from the University of Washington in the spring of 2019, with a degree in Law, Societies, and Justice accompanied with a Human Rights minor. After graduation, Jake hopes to gain work experience prior to attending law school. He's looking forward to a career devoted to helping others achieve justice. In addition to civil rights, Jake is passionate about environmental, criminal, and immigration law. Outside of work, you can find Jake hiking the trails of the Pacific Northwest, petting dogs, playing basketball, or cheering on his beloved Seattle sports teams.

SAMIRA KHADAR
Samira is an intern at the Civil Rights Justice Center. Growing up, she has always lived in the greater Seattle area and was beyond happy to choose attending the University of Washington. Currently she is in her third year, pursuing a double degree in Political Science and Law, Societies, and Justice. Samira’s passion for law and legal advocacy can also be seen in her participation as both an attorney and witness on the UW’s Mock Trial team. With Mock Trial as a part-time job of its own, Samira spends a majority of her time writing closing arguments, practicing cross-examinations, and arguing objections. She hopes to attend law school to study either criminal or international law, but is planning on taking a gap year before. Outside of the legal realm, her interests include attending concerts, hanging out with her german shepherd, and most recently, photography.
